LeqsoNice job with the recoloring but i was looking for more of a splice. I see that your new to here and i wish you a welcome, wish it couldve been a better welcome but beacuse your splice was nothing more than the addition of a flower and a recolor ima have to give you a 23/50 Try again next time, i see potential in you!

Alright let's do some JUDGING moonbat{Spoiler} This one's looking alright! The fins, mohawk and colour palette are working well together. Loses points for having very awkward-looking limbs - gotta work on smoothing out its body. Try not to have linework that's all black pixels - check the original sprites and see where they change the linework colours to match the shading of the body for ideas. 30/50 Ahhhh.... I used Umbreon as a main body base, so when I originally recolored, the outline consisted of the darker body shade and black. Didn't even think to recolor the rest. Oops.

Coming from beyond the stars is my entry to the Smart portion of the contest, Yuefoh! What's smarter than an ET that has achieved space travel, amiright?

I don't know if it has much chance against Yuefoh and the other entries, but here's my submission for the Smart contest... Mock-Mew, hunting for its favorite prey... hapless Pokemon trainers!

Yo, you totally have an equal chance! You always have quality behind your sprites, so don't sell yourself short of it! Regardless, you made something. Not many people can do that, regardless of the medium. So don't count yourself out so soon!

Coming from beyond the stars is my entry to the Smart portion of the contest, Yuefoh! What's smarter than an ET that has achieved space travel, amiright? I see what you did there with the name, clever. I don't know if I'm more afraid of being probed and experimented on by that, or just being mind controlled by it. Aliens are intelligent, especially when their means of transportation is their own hovering ship body. 41/50 I don't know if it has much chance against Yuefoh and the other entries, but here's my submission for the Smart contest... Mock-Mew, hunting for its favorite prey... hapless Pokemon trainers! The lure and trap method is pretty smart. Nearly everyone would fall for an innocent Mew. Gotta give you props for at least having a motive for this category by describing what it does and portraying it in action. I do love the sneaky little eye peeking. 37/50

It looks like someone wanted chocolate ice cream but all they had was vanilla so they threw a bunch of chocolate things into it. Very cute, im loving the little swirl at the top of its head. This splice puts you in the lead but only by 2 points! 41/50 Nice Work Hommie!

whimsi: Simple, but creative at the same time, I can tell that you put effort into this. The only problem I have is how the left arm almost completely covers the tail, it took me a while to figure out what that even was. 34/50

I love the design but ima have to take points off for the stripes and colors. Stripes wouldve been better if the tan wasnt so mustardy. All in all tho i like it, Ima give it a 36/50 Nice work!

And now for the first set of entries submitted by a judge: {Beauty} Serlotic - the elegance pokémon - fairy type The wings on their backs can't be used to fly, but are for attracting mates. The more vivid and colorful the pattern, the greater their chance of success. {Tough} Magoon - the lava pokémon - fire/ground type These distant relatives of the swampert line are said to be able to swim as quickly through magma as their cousins can through mud. {Cute} Dorabun - the rascal pokémon - normal type Despite their outward appearance, they don't make good pets due to their habit of gnawing on anything they can get their fangs on. I wasn't originally going to add 'dex entries (or even names), but then chandelure mentioned the idea and I couldn't resist. I'll also submit a smart one if I ever think of something for it.

Okey, so its cute but the overall splice lacks, i hate to say it but, skill. ill go a little easy on you and say that the cheeks (the pink squares) are a little, meh and the eyes just dont go. The splice looks too much like a pikachu and not enough of anything else and not much effort looks to be put into making it, it isnt shit and it is still cute but ima have to give it a 28/50. I was told to be critical

pilesofpixels{Entry} THIS APPEALS TO ME GREATLY. It's got sparkles and fire and it's a 'taur. Good things are here today, kids I'm a little bit nervous to rank this highly but it's got pretty much everything I'm looking for. Sparkles are a bit odd in that they're dark, make em light and glittery and that would make a lot more sense. The head looks like it's positioned a little too far back for it to have a decent neck. Overall, very clean, very impressive, and just the right amount of yellow to tip over that amazing purple tone. A solid 48/50, very good work. whimsi{Entry} This one's got a good colour scheme going on. Very warm, and fire is always very nice to look at, pixel-wise. However, the body of the splice could've been pulled off a bit better! There's some weird things going on that remind me of the Alien facehuggers, under its arms there. It looks like it should be slender with its arms and face, but its neck and body don't seem to support that. Adding legs would have made the dress stand out better - and you used the Gardevoir dress which grants points off. Go easy on the shading - it looks good with the colours you used, but too much dithering pixels can hurt it. The crown doesn't look like it's sitting right; Lilligant's flower has a good angled crown in it. *talks too much* it's a good start though! 32/50 (And just a little hint; make your signature and wording there a bit smaller. It kills the splice image a bit to have words bigger than what we're meant to be looking at. Put a URL at the bottom if you have to)

Very menacing! Definitely a "tough" pokemon, bu all means. However, as a a splice there area couple of issues with it; the left arm is just kinda sitting there, and the mouth feels a bit awkward. One way or another, it's a solid 35.

VGBMichaelI don't think this was ever clarified, so I might as well ask now! It's only one splice per category, but can the same splice be entered into more than one category? i.e. i was thinking of entering my cool splice into both the cool and tough categories.

That's a very good question. I'll have to discuss this with the other judges.
