If yes, what sort of contests should we host? Splicing, drawing, And if we do have contests, what should the prizes be?

Splicing contests definitely. Maybe something with creating our own pixel art from scratch, like different angles for the splices (besides the back like in a battle). I personally wouldn't want drawing contests just because I know I couldn't win lol, but that's a good idea too :] No ideas for the prizes

I say yes. A splicing contest would be fun!
Though, I kinda have an idea, but I don't know how these forums work. What if there was another thread/forum thingy majiggy added where users could make their own contest where people could sign up and such? Kinda organize their own with their own prizes? With of course official, kinda bigger contests included every now and then maybe from the mods? If all that makes any sense.
As for prizes in general... I have no idea other than maybe being able to request more challenging splices? I'd have nooo clue on prizes.

I'm all for contests, as long as contests on the main blog aren't removed. I really like the contests on the blog! You get to see so much variation in entries, and there are a lot more people who will see and participate there than there are here.
But yeah, more regular contests on here would be great too c:

ceta Oh yes, we'll definitely still do blog contests. TSplicA after all will remain our main focus. The forum contests will just be like a little extra thing to thank you guys for joining and being active here.

We still need feedback about this, particularly about what sort of prizes you want.
Unless you just want me to say congrats, you won. [pats your head]

Okay, maybe like special splices, you get to request something big, like a lot of pokemon together or your favourite character from something? Or if someone on the forum can RNG pokemon (I'm going to have a crack at it tonight, I'll get back to you on how it goes), you could offer that? Or maybe art? I'm cool with drawing stuff for a winner, and I guess you could ask Lorraine too? (I'm nowhere near as good as her "OTL) If you're getting someone to help with the prizes too, I'd say have them help with the idea for the contest, and with judging too. But yeah, more or less Samson, I'd say get the whole community involved with prizes and such!!

You know how like, some fighting torunaments require you to pay money to join, and then you get the entire pot if you win?
What if the prize was like that, except there isn't paying, it's just that the prize is croudsourced - like the entire community (or maybe just the other participants) collaborate to create something for the winner!

The prize is playing Ryan in a game of yugioh.

Maybe we could use the star ranking system? Like, depending on the difficulty of the contest, a win could count as 10 or so posts, thus advancing the winner to the next star rank
(edit: sorry for posting this twice ill stop using my phone on here lol)
EDITEDIT: if that is even possible to track
