Battle: Joltik is over! Congratulations to both contestants!
This was our first contest of two previous winners, and unsurprisingly the quality of splices was very high.
Each splice received a score out of ten from each judge, and the whole collection also received a score out of ten from each judge. The scores have been tallied together to protect the anonymity of the judges, so the scores are presented here out of forty. The contestant with the highest total score wins the trophy and the coveted title of Iron Splicer!
Here are the scores for this week's battle, along with some of the judges' comments:
Chandelure
Splice #1: 25/40"Something about this one seems off but I can't pinpoint it. It's probably the legs.. It looks like it froze in its tracks and seems shocked haha."
"The legs are just really really off."
Splice #2: 30/40"I feel like something is really off here but its probably just the mouth"
"Adorable fire spider bug thing. Hm, there's a white space between its head and its left leg that makes me believe the body's tiny."
Splice #3: 31/40"Good splice, but I don't see enough Joltik in it."
"I can't see any flaws in it; it's creative, well done, and all around a nice splice."
Splice #4: 26/40"The wings just kinda... ruin it. Good splice otherwise."
"A few of the parts are kind of ill-fitting."
Whole Collection: 30/40"Great variety of shapes, but I would have liked to see a little more experimenting with textures."
"It's okay; yellow and the combination of Joltik is difficult."

"The more I look at it, the cuter it gets."
Splice #2: 23/40"Really impressive sizing work, but the finished product is a little underwhelming."
"The head feels a bit off. Seems like a lot going on for a little head; shading's also weird at the center of that head. Body is so poofy."
Splice #3: 35/40"I have great urge to poke and squish tenderly."
"Simple and cute. Works really well."
Splice #4: 25/40"Overall cute. I have an issue with the top eyes and more shading on the body would have done wonders."
"Its just kinda plain and also minimally shaded"
Whole Collection: 26/40"It's... not very varied. Everything looks a lot like Joltik, probably because he's the base for the first three and in the last the base is another spidermon."
"I'm a fan of the simpler splices, but would have liked to see more variety."
