Alright, here we go! Entry 1 Starting off safe here, a simple splice made out Eevee, Snorlax, Ninetales, Purrloin and of course Luxio. Coloured in with both Swinub's and Piloswine's palettes. Luxio's two front legs were used for the same purpose, and its head was turned upside-down to make the base of this sprite's head. Entry 2 Inspired by the commonly-known Manticore. Uses Luxio as a base, Zoroark for the mane highlights, Skorupi for the tail and Golbat for the wings. Colours are custom. Entry 3 A simple idea for a splice with a lot of work put into it. Luxio with Blitzle. Entry 4 It's a ghost space fish from ghost space

Sorry fancyman, I guess the timing worked against us there. You're welcome to rejoin the list again, but I'm afraid it'll be a bit of a wait.

last minute quickly done entries because I'm an indecisive blighter woo Sir Luxio made using only Luxio for the body and limbs and everything, with the colors coming from a bunch of steel types Lich King with the head made from Luxio's turned upside down now I'd like to take a minute just sit right there but seriously though; the arms and scruff and body are all from Luxio Random fish hound creature using Luxio as the body and head and its tail fluff as the jaw, with colors coming from Eelectross yey Sooth sayer/oracle lady that helps Sir Luxio in his battle against the evil Lich King. I should REALLY do these on time instead of at the last minute

pokemonscrapfor our comments, we have to be say specific criticism, right? or do we keep the same short and not overbearing remarks while splicers can go to that other thread to ask for criticism?

Ah, I'm nervous. Doing them so late and so close to the deadline makes me feel like they're not the best they could be.

Good question, Jenny. Please keep your comments short and to the point like they've always been. If they're critical, please try to be specific about what you don't like or what improvements you would like to see. If the splicers want more detailed feedback, they can go to Kullenuska's feedback thread with their questions.

Alrighty, I've tallied the scores and collected the judges' comments. You all know how this works: Each judge gave a score out of 10 to each splice, and to the collection as a whole. I've added up the scores, and the splicer with the highest total score earns the trophy and the title. It was an impressive and close battle. In fact, the difference between the highest scoring splice and the lowest scoring is only five points, which is a much narrower margin than we've ever had before in this contest, so sincere congratulations to both participants. With that said, let's look at the actual scores! Learningtimebuster
Splice #1: 29/40"Ease up on the dithering there, we want shading, not a pixel checkerboard!" "Nice detail work." Splice #2: 30/40"I think layering the wing in front was a mistake." "Good rendition of a manticore. Good choice of colors." Splice #3: 29/40"The end result looks amazing. I like how you gave the body a different pattern." "Good work on the face. Some of the internal lines could use a little touching up, and the bends in the tail seem painful." Splice #4: 33/40"I like this one a lot. Great work." "I love how you made the base Luxio's head and made a completely unique splice." Whole collection: 30/40"All the same size and general shape. Well put-together, but more variety would be nice." "I feel like you could have approached it from more different angles, but I like that you focused on execution and used a lot of Luxio in each splice." Total: 151
Pilesofpixels
Splice #1: 32/40"The shading and outlines could use a touch more finesse, but this splice is nearly perfect." "This is totally cool. Even more impressive that you used just Luxio to make an armored knight with no pants." Splice #2: 31/40"Creepy monstrosity, loving the bandages addition." "Not liking the massive, empty body." Splice #3: 34/40"I find a lot to like in this splice." "Creative usage of the tail. I actually appreciate everything about this splice." Splice #4: 30/40"Interesting idea although that left leg looks a bit wonky." "Good use of Luxio bits in unique ways." Whole collection: 33/40"Great variety of shapes and ideas. I deducted a few points because the Secret Ingredient is kind of hidden in at least two of your four splices." "I give you so much props for using just Luxio in some of these." Total: 160So the winner, for his third consecutive victory, is Pilesofpixels! Congratulations to you! You have earned the coveted title of Iron Splicer: Luxio, and this elegant custom trophy by lavatarorigin In addition, you have the right to return once again to face another challenger, and possibly rack up a fourth victory. Will you take up the challenge? Before we proceed to the next challenge, I'm sad to announce that one of our judges has decided to step aside. Spazzyjenny, thank you for your fair, enthusiastic and dedicated judging of the Iron Splicer contest. So we will need another judge before the next contest can begin. Before I open it up to volunteers, I'd like to extend an invitation to learningtimebuster. Since your challenge has ended, and in light of your excellent judging in the past you are more than welcome to join us again on the panel. Just let me know what you'd like to do. Thank you everyone! We'll start the next contest soon!

Oh man, even if I didn't win, I'm glad that my splices were well-appreciated! Definitely didn't expect ghost space fish out of all of them to net me the most points, but so be it. You did well, Piles, and I'm glad to have competed against you.
On a side-note, yes, I'd like to return to the judges' table.

Alrighty, been three days and no word from Makkilemore. Sorry, we'll move on to the next name on the list. okami, are you ready? I also see on pilesofpixels' tumblr that his computer may be dead, so I'll ask him to check in as well and confirm that he's still able to participate in the contest.

Alright ladies and gentlemen! It's that time! okami, pilesofpixels, your very own Iron Splicer adventure is about to begin! This week, your Secret Ingredient will be... Sawsbuck!Because there are four different versions of Sawsbuck, I should clarify: You don't need to use every season in each splice. As long as each splice features at least one of the four Sawsbucks, you should receive full points. And of course, if you want to mix different Sawsbucks together, that's great too! You have one week to present us with your collection of four original Sawsbuck splices, so the contest will end on July 28th at 12:00 pm Pacific time (3:00 Eastern, 8:00 GMT). Well? Get to it! A la epissure!
