Alright, I've got to get a couple of ducks in a row first, but how about we start tomorrow at 12 Pacific?
Here is an important question for everybody (judges, splicers, audience...): What about allowing 6th-gen sprites from the Smogon sprite generator? I don't use 'em myself, but I know several of our splicers do. Would everyone be happier if we amend the rules to allow Smogon's fansprites?

I'm all for it. I think that the entries themselves should be limited to 2-D, front facing spites though.

Yeah, I kinda forgot they weren't allowed when I made that splice. I vote yes because if they were, I would've lost by a slightly smaller margin.

As long as they're not used as the secret ingredient, I'm all good for that! The Latias/MegaAmpharos was so good and got points deducted .n.
some of the fansprites are ugly or bad but yknow. we can always fix em up as we use them

Ok, it sounds like we've got a large majority in favor of using Smogon's fansprites. I'll include an updated rule when I announce the secret ingredient tomorrow.

It's that time again! Before we start, here's an updated list of allowable sprites to use in your splices: - Official front-facing Pokemon sprites from Gen-IV and Gen-V games.
- Rear-facing Pokemon sprites from Gen-V games.
- Trainer sprites from Gen-IV and Gen-V games.
- Gen-VI fansprites from Smogon Sprite Generator.
Regardless of what sprites you use to harvest parts, all submitted splices should be two-dimensional, front-facing sprites. Please submit no more than four sprites for your collection. Of course, all submitted splices must still feature the contest's Secret Ingredient. I'll update the OP to reflect this change to the rules. With that out of the way, here we go! alakazarn, kullenuska, your very own Iron Splicer adventure is about to begin! You have one week starting now to submit your collection of four original splices, each featuring the following Secret Ingredient. This contest will close at 12 Noon PDT (3 pm Eastern, 8 pm GMT) on Wednesday May 14. Your Secret Ingredient is...  Togekiss!You know what to do, there's nothing left but to do it! A la Epissure! |
