Really you just have to make the lines match, and then color if roughly the same. IIRC

"Resizing Images on MS Paint" Quick and easy tutorial. So you have your splice all done, and you need to resize it. Go to select, and use the rectangular selection. Once there is a rectangle around your splice, right click it, and select "resize". Change the 100 in this box to 400. (Or any number you want, I suppose. Standard resizing on this forum is to 400) And now your splice is properly resized! Bonus: If your splice is already resized to 400, and you want to go back to original size, select it, click resize, and the number will say 100 again. Change 100 to 25, and it will be the original size.

Hey there! I was wondering if you can suggest some things for me on a splice I'm working on. It's an Arcanine/Beedrill fusion thing and I'm trying to put Beedrill onto Arcanine. I got the easier parts out of the way (the antennae, eyes, and stinger/butt/i-forget-bee-anatomy thing) but right now I'm stumped on what else to add to it. Like how to incorporate the limbs and wings. (The hardest part is the wings since it's obscured by Beedrill's body) I hope I can ask for suggestions here. D:
If not, then have any advice on putting in missing body parts? Like how tails/wings are cut off because of how the sprites are angled (ie: wings of Fearow, or Charizard).
Thank you! Sorry to bother!

Don't worry about it idk-jenny ! I'm here to help. First off, the limbs might be hard to add, since Arcanine already has big legs and adding little tiny legs would look weird. As for the wings, I'll give you a tip that I use for a lot of splices. AND THIS IS FOR EVERYONE TOO! Use the back sprite! If parts are obscured because it's hidden behind something else, more often than not, you'll find the full part in the back sprite. You might have to play with the shading a bit, but that's alright. (And if you're a beginner, it's okay to leave the shading as is.) I hope this is helpful!

Ah, quick tip Samson, I know this is your advice thread but I thought I'd point out that resizing a sprite from 400 back to original size by putting it at 25 does get the size correct, but it basically JPEG's the sprite. Which basically means there's no point.
Lorraine, Ginny, and I were talking about this exact thing during my last stream and I totally proved both of them wrong and they got mad at me.
But yeah never resize down it's no bueno.

It messes up the shades, it's not quite as bad as a JPEG, but it makes everything more neon-y or bright or idk it hurt my eyes like crap. It basically outlines every spot of color with a different shade. And makes everything ugly. Here I'll put a side by side of one sprite at 400%, then another that I resized down to original size and then back to 400% so you can see the difference. Far left is the original, middle is the resized sprite, and just for kicks I put a JPEG'd version on the far right.

Woops sorry, I ignored this thread for like half a month. pokemonscrap I'm kind of lazy when it comes to flames. If I need a lot of it, I just copy the same bit of fire, and lay it next to each other. At the tips though, have a bit of the fire breaking off or coming to a point. Just reference Pokemon that already have fire on them to see what I'm talking about. idk-jenny I almost never do scratch work, because I'm horrible at it. I suggest looking through other trainer sprites to find helmets and boots and editing those as needed to fit it onto Elesa.

TimelessTalesThat's a bit of a difficult thing to learn, honestly. I suggest studying the shading on existing Pokemon, and how lighting works with them. And make sure when you splice Pokemon together, they're facing the same way so that the shading doesn't have to change too much.
