For the most part, I do personalised sprite edits, but I am willing to take requests for other things. Partial portfolio is here. For a personalised sprite, I generally need the sprites you want me to use, a description of what you want me to do with it, and, optionally, any reference pictures you'd like me to use. Examples: D/P Misdreavus (both frames), changed the reds to purples, widened eyes to show she's a little naive, simple animation with a scratched exclamation mark to show personality traits (moody but excitable/curious): R/S Eevee with a star marking on its eye, evolves into an Espeon: D/P Ralts (first frame) on fire and wearing a specific pair of Kamina glasses: (This one is actually kinda horribly-done, looking back on it. The perspective on the glasses is wonky and the fire isn't even sprited.) I am willing to go back and make changes to given sprite up to three times if you are not happy with the first draft.

(This one is part of a series of fakemon native to the underworld/spirit world mentioned in Dusknoir's Pokedex entry. I made male/female variations and shinies for this one.) Skalee [Grass/Dark] Grazing Pokemon ("skal" (the Danish word for "skull") + "bleat" OR "skull" + "baa" + "sheep")Rock Head/Overcoat, (Harvest) | Grass/Field *Herds of Skalee browse the slate-grey grasses and low shrubs of the spirit world. It is not unknown for them to accidentally nibble the leaves and fruit growing on one another. *If Skalee swallows whole seeds, they will grow in its stomach and become part of its dense foliage. Anyone who eats fruit grown from a Skalee will be unable to return to the normal world.(And yes, I am totally referencing the Persephone myth there in the second pokedex entry. Also, the petals by Pareid's knee form a sinister-looking face, and Angrave's pose was based on Angel of Grief grave markers)

(Moving the Crinuet line to this post for timestamp purposes so I can freely edit the original post) So, uh, to start, I guess these four would count as extreme type changes? The inspiration came from Yamask being former humans, and some wildspec on Youtube about humans also being a kind of pokemon, which led to the idea of Pokemon also being able to rise from the grave as legit Ghost-types under certain circumstances. I made them for a story my brother and I are working on. They're admittedly a departure from the traditional Pokemon style, but horror is made in the little details. (Warning, some of this gets. . . I want to describe it as "kinda" dark, but I'm not sure how much my perspective is skewed by desensitization. It might actually be somewhere in the "moderately"-to-"quite" zone.) I've got an evo chart, which probably looks familiar: {This is kinda big} Deet shots: {All in one image because I am lazy} Pokedex entries: Crinuet [Ghost] Mourning Pokemon ("crypt" + "minuet")Cursed Body/Intimidate, (Insomnia) | Amorphous *Even though it never knew its mother's trainer, it feels her loss so keenly that the emotion could be its own. Every night, it cries over the grave of the trainer it never knew, and its quiet sobs can still be heard from miles away.Pareid [Ghost] Grief Pokemon (from "pareidolia")Cursed Body/Intimidate, (Insomnia) | Amorphous *It gathers flowers to put on the grave it tends, but because plants wither at its touch, they always fall apart before it gets back. The paths it takes between flower patches and the graveyard become littered with dead petals.Reveknight [Ghost/Steel] Vigil Pokemon ("revenant" + "knight")Cursed Body/Intimidate, (Insomnia) | Amorphous *When a Gardevoir's best efforts to save its trainer fail, often a Reveknight will rise to protect its trainer's final resting place as steadfastly as it defended its trainer in life. *From the grief of being unable to ever hold its trainer again, its arms became hard and razor-sharp, and can now cut through flesh and steel with equal ease.Angrave [Ghost/Fighting] Grave Pokemon ("angel" + "grave")No Guard, (Mold Breaker) | Amorphous *With its negative feelings amplified beyond containment by the Dusk Stone, Angrave's heart burst out of its back in shards, which still linger near its body. The spirit lights that once flocked to it now flee from its presence in fear. *Its days are spent crying over the grave of its mother's trainer, and its nights viciously attacking any living creature that dares approach its guardpost. It is said that anyone who looks directly into Angrave's eyes will see visions of their own end.I also have vast tables of their level-up, TM/HM, and egg moves, but 1) It's all in the only-half-implemented Zetaboards table markup that I'm too lazy to try converting, and, 2) they're kind of huge to be posting unbidden.

I'm thinking of working on either some killer shoes (I mean, we've already got ice cream cones, so shoes ought to be fair game. ) or some sort of Rock/Flying psuedo-gargoyle thing, if only because it'll get boring if I'm only ever making grimdark ghosts-and-bones stuff.

I would say though that you should try to stray away from making it look too much like another pokemon.

Oh, definitely. I deliberately made the Crinuet line resemble the Ralts line because Reveknight is literally an undead Gardevoir, but if something's got nothing to do with another pokemon line, there's no reason for them to look alike.

Uh, well, for something like a custom sprite edit, I usually ask for the sprite(s) you want edited, what you want done with it, and, if applicable, any reference pictures you want me to use.

Kitetra [Poison] Poison Tongue Pokemon (kitten + tetraodotoxin)Poison Point/Poison Touch, (Shadow Tag) | Field Egg Group *The hairs on its tongue secrete a potent neurotoxin. This poison is coated onto its fur and claws as it grooms itself. *Its tongue is rough like sandpaper, but the numbing toxin on it works too quickly for its licking to be felt. One lick can render an entire limb completely numb in seconds. It evolves into Murdercat, Stalker of Nightmares Nekodoto, but I don't have a sprite for it. I've also noticed that I am very, very texture-oriented. Well, rather, I already knew that I'm very, very texture-oriented, but I noticed when working on this that it extends to my spriting. I actually had to go back over this twice to tone down the texturing. (EDIT: Photobucket is taking a while to update, but he should be looking less huge sometime in the next hour few hours???)

WIP time! I'm using a reference square even though I'm not trying to precisely emulate the Pokemon style, simply for the convenience (I got the idea and template from the Smogon XY sprite project). Right now I've got the head on one layer and the body on a second, and I blocked in rough shading for the body with a 3-pixel square brush and the "magic wand" selection tool to avoid painting over the outline. EDIT: Edited the face a bit to make the upper lips more resemble the mouths on the persian cats in my reference photos. Shaded and added fur texture to body. EDIT2: Removed excessive texture on the body, then completely redid the lower outline, and went back over the head outline so there's a less distinct border between the body and head. Made the body taller and made the eyes less round to make it give less of a "friendly dog" look. EDIT3: Messed with the head a bunch, added a tail.

Nekodoto [Poison/Dark] Poison Tongue Pokemon (neko + tetraodotoxin)Poison Point/Poison Touch, (Shadow Tag) | Field Egg Group *If it cannot lure its prey close with its cute appearance, it opens its mouth wide and charges with amazing speed.EDIT: Also, because I can, a Hoothoot chick:

Got very angry (because reasons) and re-retooled the Skalee skulls again, plus completely redid their legs. Also finally decided they looked better without the extra texture squiggles. New sprites have been transplanted into the main Skalee post. Originals are below: Compare with new: Also, look at my trainer OC, Vivek: Difficult to fit all the details in there, but I think I did okay on "Huge eyes, big nose, medical bracelet, messy wing hair, very shy". Uh, his other forearm is meant to be behind his back. Still not sure if it looks convincing or if it looks like he's an amputee (he is disabled, but "missing an arm" isn't his disability). Bonus: Vivek's service Chatot, Omar, in his little work vest/head band: Edit: Re: Vivek's arm: Which looks better? v3.0 v3.1 (Yes I'm aware I changed precisely one pixel. I want to know if it makes a difference in how that arm reads. =/)

The arm looks fine to me, but I can understand someone making that mistake. I'm not saying you have to do this, but it might help if you redid the arm so it's sticking out a little more. With more of the elbow visible, you can make it more clear that it's bending and not cut off. Either that, or have a portion of the hand sticking out the other side.
That said, choosing between the two on the bottom, I'd go with the left. That one seems less "hidden", and gives you the illusion that you can see more of it. (Feel free to disregard any or all of this advice, I don't actually know what I'm talking about.)

Hmmm... *experimentally puts arm behind back, checks location of fingers in mirror* Well, proportionately speaking, Vivek has longer arms and much narrower hips than I do, so yeah might be able to see a couple fingers sticking out from behind his hip. Thanks! =D Edit: How's this? His thumb ought to be on top with his other fingers curled loosely below it, but not much room for detail in a 2x4-pixel space. Edit 4: Changed it very slightly so the hand doesn't line up with the bottom of the shirt anymore; may take some time for Photobucket to catch up with the file replacement.

Idk if it caught up yet, but if so, you should probably move it some more, that hand is really blending in with the bottom of the shirt.

Should look like this: (I love Photobucket but I really hate it sometimes) Edit: Actually, yeah, looks like it's caught up. How's this? It's moved yet one more pixel up.

First time I've done a portrait like this, but: Meet Bells the baby Klefki, from an RP I'm in. Everything except the background was pixeled by hand. ... And since I have added a background, I could really stand to anti-alias those rough edges. (Bells is just starting her collection, and has yet to develop a discerning taste for what really counts as a "key". From left to right: A plastic teething key for a baby, an actual small key to an apple-shaped jewelry box, a keyring fob with a chain of bells, and an ear tag from an escaped lab subject she met.)
