Iron Splicer!

This is a recurring one-on-one contest that takes place once per week.

Contestants sign up in advance (first come, first tested).

At 10:00 pm GMT (5:00 Eastern, 2:00 Pacific) each Friday, I will announce the Secret Ingredient, one Pokemon. The two contestants will have 48 hours to make four splices using that Pokemon.

Each splice must incorporate the 5th-Gen sprite provided for the Secret Ingredient, and may use any other 4th- or 5th-Gen Pokemon or trainer sprites to complete the splice.

There is no limit to the number of sprites that can be used in each splice, as long as the Secret Ingredient is featured. Traditional splices, gijinkas, and retypes are all valid options. The only limit is your imagination!

Each splice will be scored by a panel of judges and given a score from 1 to 10 based on technical skill and creativity. An additional 1 to 10 points are given to the whole collection for variety and use of the Secret Ingredient. So the collection can earn up to 50 total points per judge. The judges' scores are tallied together and a winner is declared.

The winner earns a custom trophy by lavatarorigin for their sig, and the coveted title of Iron Splicer!

The winner has to option to stay on and face another opponent (up to a maximum of five consecutive wins). The runner-up can sign up again for a future contest.

Current Rules:

At this time, we have a waiting list of interest for participation in this contest (see the list at the top of this post. For each contest, we will take the one or two names from the top of the list (depending on whether we have a returning champion), and they will have a few days to respond that they are ready to participate.

If you want to participate in Iron Splicer, please indicate your interest by a post in this thread, and I'll add you to the bottom of the list.

Contestants will have one week from the time that the Secret Ingredient is announced to make their collection of four splices.

The list of sprites allowed to use in your splices is:

• Official front-facing Pokemon sprites from Gen-IV and Gen-V games.
• Rear-facing Pokemon sprites from Gen-V games.
• Trainer sprites from Gen-IV and Gen-V games.
• Gen-VI fansprites from Smogon Sprite Generator.

Regardless of what sprites you use to harvest parts, all submitted splices should be two-dimensional, front-facing sprites. Please submit only four sprites for your collection.

With the exception of the Iron Splicer title, prizes may vary. Prizes will be announced for each Iron Splicer contest.

The current panel of judges is Pokemonscrap, Lavatarorigin, Learningtimebuster and Kullenuska.
