Well, i just decided to make this thread in case any splicers in the future potentially want to post any of their splices to receive any sort of critique or tips from other splicers! Like myself, I started splicing rather recently and my sprites are rather iffy in my opinion so, any advice or helpful commentary would be lovely! uwu Here's something i just did not too long ago of a camerupt, emboar and torterra, since my friend requested a grass / fire type splice except it doesn't have a trace of grass left in it at all, but i still think it turned out looking pretty okay! Any tips?

I really want this thread to have replies, but I can't reply as a critic because I'm not a splicer.
HOWEVER, I would say that this looks quite good considering you started splicing not long ago. Since this is a form of pixel art, I'd think you could aim for a less cluttered design? Which means you could simply make the thing a little bit bigger, or have less going on. I'M NOT SURE.
I did want to make sure you had at least one critique though!
Also, it reminds me of Heatran a bit!

Aww thank you heehee c: I see where you're going with it though, & yeah, there aren't that many bulky looking fire types out there huh

I think this is a really impressive fire-turtle-dude. I especially like what you've done with the tusk-- I wouldn't have thought it was possible to have both the tusk and the beak, but you managed to make it work really well. I agree with Zaxis that the design is a little cluttered, in particular around the back of the shell... I might have brought one of those geysers forward. One other minor point-- watch for areas where you let light colors touch the white background without a border, like on the right side of the right geyser. A simple black or dark-colored border can make those areas pop and make them look more finished.

Also, might I add that the shading on the legs should be consistent. For example, the leg in the front is a lighter shade of black, but the pattern you added on to it has a darker black on it. To fix this, I suggest either erasing the black around the pattern before applying it to the leg, or just recorloring it once you have it where you want it.

I'd like to say that there are a few stray pixels that aren't the same colour as the rest. On the yellow bit on its back, its front right leg, and a few stray ones on the rocky bits on the back.
As well as this, some of your outlines are missing, or don't look natural. On the back leg, the right edge is completely straight, and it doesn't look natural. On the rocky bits on the back, there are some missing outlines. While missing outlines can look okay for some Pokemon, I don't think it really works for this Pokemon.
Also, a lot of the maroon outline over the pokemon looks out of place because it is all one colour. I'd suggest adding some black/darker colours into the parts in the shade.
In saying this, it is still a really great splice! Especially for when you've only started recently c: Keep up the great work!!

Ok so when I was fusing Houndoom and Lucario I was thinking, "hmm I should add Houndooms bracelets things." However, now that I'm looking at it I dont know whether to leave him without them or keep them and if I should keep them are there any changes I should do to improve the fusion? Critiques please! ^.^' Attachments:

i personally prefer the second one (with bracelets). once you see that second one, it makes you realize that he's naked without them. ;

the bracelets add a lot to the sprite I think, it's really an iconic part of houndoom if you can ever add it. I do really enjoy this splice.

New to this forum, and don't know a whole lot of people, but I have been working on my splicing. Here is one of Serperior and Eelektross. I did it a while ago, when I was learning the basics of Splicing. What do you think?

It actually looks like it was executed relatively well. Pretty good.

It looks really awesome! My only suggestion is to match the shading of Eelektross's body.
On the front of the belly, where you added Serperior designs, it's a lighter shade, so the Serperior markings should be a lighter shade as well.
Other than that, I love it.
